Honeyed Cabbage

Whether culturally accurate or not, one can hardly celebrate St. Patrick’s Day without corned beef, cabbage and a green-tinted brew. Unfortunately, most renditions of the presumed ‘Irish favorite’ have more to offer as decoration than nutrition. Rather than resort to another tasteless version of the old standard St. Paddy’s fare, we’ve created our own interpretation that’s sure to be a favorite for years to come.

Honeyed Cabbage


  • 1 head of cabbage
  • 1/2 onion
  • Baked ham or bacon
  • 1 1/2 tsp Wedderspoon Manuka Honey
  • Salt & pepper
  • Garlic powder


    1. Preheat oven to 450°F
    2. Slice Cabbage into disks and place on a lined baking sheet (pre-sprayed)
    3. Drizzle honey and olive oil on top of the cabbage and then sprinkle garlic powder, salt and pepper on each piece.
    4. Bake for 15 minutes, turn over and continue for 10 minutes more
    5. Slice onion and ham
    6. Heat a skillet with olive oil and add onion and ham, after 5 minutes drizzle with honey and allow to caramelize
    7. Plate the ham and onion mixture onto each cabbage disk. Enjoy!

    You can also crumble up croutons or parmesan crisps on top with 1 tablespoon olive oil!
