Manuka-Based Secret Sauce: Six Ways

Searching for a better-for-you sauce you can make with what you have right now in your pantry? How about finding a recipe that can be altered to fit whatever you've got on tonight's menu? Look no further - we'd like to introduce you to our Manuka-based Secret Sauce, six ways. From a basic, versatile version, perfect for dipping or topping, to an Asian-inspired stir fry version, a cheesy Parmesan sauce, or dressing to top abundant green salads this summer - you'll find yourself whipping up this sauce (in one of its iterations,) over and over again. Just make sure you've got your Wedderspoon Manuka Honey on hand! Or stock up here! 

Ingredients:

Staple Sauce with Manuka honey

Though this is the most basic version of our secret sauces, it is the base you'll return to time and time again. 

  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise 
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1/2 tablespoon Wedderspoon Manuka Honey 
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon onion powder
  • salt and pepper, to taste

    Directions:

      1. In a bowl, mix together mayonnaise, ketchup and Manuka Honey. 
      2. Add in seasonings and mix well.
      3. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the fridge.

    Ingredients:

    Asian Stir Fry Sauce with Manuka honey 

    This version of our secret sauce is perfect when mixed in with veggies like broccoli, peppers, and carrots and with any of your favorite meats. Use it to create a healthy, at-home version of your favorite Asian takeout recipes.

    • 1 tablespoon ketchup
    • 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
    • 1/2 tablespoon Wedderspoon Manuka Honey 
    • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
    • 1 tablespoon peanut butter *optional
    • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil

      Directions:

        1. In a bowl, mix together ketchup and Manuka Honey.
        2. Mix in rice wine vinegar and soy sauce.
        3. Mix in sesame oil.
        4. Add in peanut butter, if using.
        5. Mix well.
        6. Serve immediately or store in an air tight container in the fridge.

      Ingredients:

      Parmesan Dip with Manuka honey

      This cheesy version is game day and crock pot approved. There are endless great ways to enjoy this dip, including served warm by itself as a dip, mixed with chicken (to create something similar to buffalo chicken dip), or as a topping for french fries. Try it over nachos if you're feeling adventurous! 

      • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
      • 1 tablespoon ketchup
      • 1/2 tablespoon Wedderspoon Manuka Honey 
      • 1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese
      • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
      • 1/8 teaspoon onion powder
      • salt and pepper, to taste

        Directions:

          1. In a bowl, mix together mayonnaise, ketchup and Manuka Honey.
          2. Add in seasoning and mix well.
          3. Add in the parmesan cheese and continue to mix.
          4. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the fridge.

        Ingredients:

        Nacho Sauce with Manuka honey

        Cheesy and spicy, this version of our secret sauce packs a spicy kick! Drizzle it over a plate of nachos for a satisfying snack.

        • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
        • 1 tablespoon ketchup
        • 1/2 tablespoon Wedderspoon Manuka Honey 
        • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
        • 1/8 teaspoon onion powder
        • salt and pepper, to taste
        • 1 tablespoon queso fresco
        • 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
        • 1/2 teaspoon taco seasoning (or, 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper and 1/4 teaspoon chili powder)

          Directions:

            1. In a bowl, mix together mayonnaise, ketchup and Manuka Honey.
            2. Add in seasoning and mix well.
            3. Add in queso fresco.
            4. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the fridge.

          Ingredients:

          Vinegar-based Marinade or Dressing with Manuka honey

          Just like the basic version of our secret sauce, this version is one you will want to put up on the fridge (or memorize!). Dress up your favorite salad or baked chicken with this.

          • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
          • 1 tablespoon ketchup
          • 1/2 tablespoon Wedderspoon Manuka Honey 
          • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
          • 1/8 teaspoon onion powder
          • salt and pepper, to taste
          • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
          • 1/4 cup olive oil

            Directions:

              1. In a bowl, mix together mayonnaise, ketchup and Manuka Honey.
              2. Add in apple cider vinegar.
              3. Mix in seasoning.
              4. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the fridge.

            Ingredients:

            Eat More Veggies Dip with Manuka honey

            This version of our secret sauce is light and creamy and totally addictive. We suggest pairing it with hard pretzels or raw veggies! 

            • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
            • 1 tablespoon ketchup
            • 1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
            • 1/2 tablespoon Wedderspoon Manuka Honey 
            • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
            • 1/8 teaspoon onion powder
            • salt and pepper, to taste

              Directions:

                1. In a bowl, mix together mayonnaise, ketchup, sour cream or Greek yogurt, and Manuka Honey.
                2. Add in seasonings and mix well.
                3. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the fridge.
