New Year, Healthy You - The Manuka Honey Lifestyle

New Year, Healthy You - The Manuka Honey Lifestyle

It’s exciting to make a list of goals and new healthy habits at the beginning of the year. However, it can take a lot of effort and dedication to stick with those habits for the entirety of the year, and better yet - for life! The key to creating healthy habits that will stick is to be realistic with them. In the long run, you’re better off creating manageable healthy habits that will stick long-term, than implementing a few extreme habits that you can’t realistically keep up with.

And, it doesn’t matter when you implement new goals and lifestyle habits - there is no rule requiring this to take place at the beginning of the year. In fact, sometimes it is actually better to make lifestyle changes after all the buzz of the holiday season and new calendar year calms down a bit.

Anything can be a lifestyle change. Lifestyle changes include adding exercise to your daily routine, following a new diet, prioritizing rest, changing your daily routine and more. Swapping out unhealthy products and ingredients for healthier alternatives is another type of lifestyle change you can make.

Wedderspoon Manuka Honey can help you improve your daily routine and overall wellness, while also simplifying your pantry. Manuka Honey has countless uses - so one jar can be used in many different ways, from being a part of your beauty routine to your Sunday dinner routine.

So what is Manuka Honey made of, you may wonder? Manuka Honey is a special type of honey produced by honeybees who feed off the nectar of the manuka bush. Considered a superfood, Manuka Honey can support the immune system and digestive health, improve the skin, and provide a natural source of energy.

Here at Wedderspoon, we take pride in offering the most authentic Manuka Honey. Our Manuka Honey is produced in New Zealand by our team of honeybees whose colonies are nestled between the crystal waters of Lake Wakatipu and the majestic glaciers of Mt. Cook. Wedderspoon Manuka Honey is Non-GMO project verified and also free of antibiotics, glyphosate and pesticides. Our Manuka Honey is as pure, genuine and unaltered as it gets. What can we say…it’s liquid gold!

Upgrade Your Skincare Routine by Simplifying

Sometimes less is more. Truthfully, you don’t need a 15-step daily skincare routine. Get back to the basics with a simple, clean ingredient cleanser and moisturizer. Treat your skin once or twice a week to a special scrub or mask, which can also be created with the most simple and natural ingredients.

Kelly suggests: Mix Wedderspoon Manuka Honey and sugar together to create a face scrub. Gently massage the scrub into your skin and rinse off with warm water. Do this once or twice a week, followed by your favorite face moisturizer.

Prioritize Your Health

The most important thing is health. Without health, we have nothing. Prioritize your health this year through an improved diet, increased exercise and more time in the great outdoors. Spending more time outdoors can improve your mental and physical health as well as your sleep routine.

Kelly suggests: Treat your body like a temple. Feed it well. Make more home-cooked meals with whole ingredients. And, incorporate ingredients with multiple health benefits, like Manuka Honey. Find delicious and nutritious recipes on Wedderspoon.com.

Practice Natural Remedies

Mother Earth provides us with many natural remedies and ingredients that can improve symptoms of illness and treat health conditions. Before you request a prescription, consider trying a few natural remedies first.

Kelly suggests: Manuka Honey is good for a sore throat. When you feel a sore throat coming on, start gargling with warm salt water and sipping on warm drinks. Specifically, warm water or hot tea with Manuka Honey. Chamomile and peppermint tea are soothing and gentle, and the addition of Manuka Honey offers an extra boost to the immune system and also helps coat the throat, improving symptoms associated with a sore throat.

Become More Mindful

Your mental health impacts your physical health. It’s so important to take care of your mental health. Spend more time reading, listening to music, journaling and practicing yoga and meditation this year. When you improve your mental health, all other aspects of your life will improve too. Improving your mental health makes you a better partner, parent, friend, and worker.

Kelly suggests: Take time for yourself and your mental health. Consider starting or joining a book club or enrolling at a new yoga studio to meet other like minded folks. Joining something will also help you hold yourself accountable.

Enjoy the Little Moments

Oftentimes, the “little” things are actually the “big” things in life. For instance, sometimes a simple dinner at home is more special than a fancy dinner out, and a day at the local park can be more fun than a chaotic day at the theme park. Make it a point to slow down and enjoy the little moments more this year. Spend more time with your loved ones and don’t worry about planning extravagant activities. You don’t need to have a big fancy plan every day - find joy in simple, everyday moments.

Kelly suggests: There is something so sweet about enjoying a home cooked meal in an intimate setting with your loved ones. Consider starting a dinner club and rotating hosting monthly dinners with your friends and family.  Add regularly scheduled times to enjoy simple things into your schedule. This could mean weekly walks at the park with a neighbor, Saturday morning coffee on the porch, or Monthly home movie nights with the kids.

We hope you’ll implement some of these healthy habits into your life this year and share them with friends and family who could benefit too! On behalf of the Wedderspoon team, we hope you have a wonderful and prosperous new year!
