Summer is here and there is nothing more refreshing than fresh, in-season fruit! There is never a bad time to enjoy fresh fruit - it makes the perfect breakfast, snack, dessert, and everything in between.
A classic fruit salad is one of the easiest types of salads to make for your next get-together or BBQ. Simply chop up your favorite fruits, toss them together in a bowl, and you're done! Fruit salad can be enjoyed at home, and is also a great dish to bring to a party or cookout. Not only is fruit salad healthy and delicious, but it also looks so pretty! The rainbow of colors in a bowl is fun, festive and very summery.
While we love a classic fruit salad, you can also take your fruit salad to the next level very easily! Dress up your fruit salad with an easy-to-make finishing touch - a dressing consisting of just two additional ingredients. The result is a fruit salad that feels more fancy and intentional. The best part is you likely don't need to purchase anything extra to make this dressing - it calls for lime juice and honey, which you probably have in your kitchen already.
Keep in mind that recipes can always be adjusted for preference or taste. You can certainly modify the included fruit based on what you prefer, or what you have in your fridge, and, more or less Beechwood Honey can be used depending on how sweet you'd like the salad to be. If you want a very strong, sweet taste of honey, perhaps use a bit more. If you prefer just a hint of the honey flavor, opt for less.
Beechwood Honey is one of our favorite honeys here at Wedderspoon. It's silky, smooth, and deliciously sweet. Just like our Manuka Honey, Beechwood Honey has antioxidant properties and can be beneficial to your health. Beechwood Honey is free of pollen, which means that it's a bit more liquidy than standard honey or Manuka Honey. This aspect makes it easy to mix, which is why we've used it in this dressing recipe. The lime juice not only adds a little bit of tang to the salad and balances out the sweet flavors of fruit and honey, but can also help keep the fruit salad fresh, longer. This is especially great if you're making it ahead of time for a get together.
This fruit salad is delicious on its own, but can also be served several other ways. Spoon it into a shortcake bowl or cup for a quick, easy and relatively healthy dessert, or pile it high on top of a cake for a beautiful and delicious topping.
Wow your tastebuds and those of your friends and family this summer with this yummy recipe!
