Recipe Roundup: Seasonal Recipes to Add to Your Thanksgiving Menu

When it comes to Thanksgiving, the more options the better! There is no such thing as too many side dishes, and arguably, the sides are more important than the turkey, at least in my house! Thanksgiving is a day to spend time with family, show thanks, and enjoy delicious food. For many families, Thanksgiving dinner is actually a day-long meal, starting in the morning or early afternoon, and continuing through the evening, which means there are plenty of opportunities to try new dishes, no matter who is coming to your table.

Not only is it nice to have a variety of dishes served on Thanksgiving, but intentionally cooking enough to have substantial leftovers is a must! Your family likely has several tried and true Thanksgiving recipes you bring to the table year after year, but there’s no harm in adding some new recipes into the mix!

Popular Thanksgiving dishes include a wide variety of flavors and textures, but somehow, all go so well together when piled high and even mixed together on a plate. Generally, warm, savory dishes are nice for Thanksgiving, especially when the holiday lands on a chilly day.

As we approach Thanksgiving, we’d like to share a few of our favorite fall recipes with you, all of which would be lovely to prepare for your family.

Our Fall Harvest Salad is a nice alternative to a classic caesar or house salad. It incorporates seasonal flavors and some crunch, thanks to pumpkin seeds and apple slices. This salad will serve as a great first course during your Thanksgiving meal.

Skip the standard, plain dinner rolls this year and opt for something a little fancier. Our Honey Pear Bites are perfect before the big meal, or, in between courses. They combine a standard French baguette, cheese, Manuka Honey and pears, which are in season this time of year. Though these may seem like a fancy finger food, they’re very easy to prepare.

Honey Roasted Carrots are sweet and savory, thanks to Manuka Honey, salt and pepper. The flavor can easily be adjusted for preference. These carrots are so delicious that even the kiddos will be eager to eat them and get a veggie serving in.

And, last but not least, our Pumpkin Spice Hot Toddy is the perfect way to end another great Thanksgiving holiday. It’s warm, delicious and will help the adults unwind after a long day of eating and socializing. The secret ingredient? A Wedderspoon Manuka Honey drop!
